Testimonials

My first experience this week and I have been impressed. Maria has a great depth of knowledge but better than that she really does go the extra mile, or five in my case. Thoroughly recommended and I hope that the business thrives and prospers going forwards. It deserves to, I'm not aware of any other business in the local area that offers so much creativity and diversity to a newcomer. Long may it continue

Spent a lovely day doing a felting workshop with Maria. She was knowledgeable, encouraging and patient. Her enthusiasm was infectious. I left with a complete project and lots of ideas to build on. Highly recommended.

I have learned so much from Maria's classes. The amount of preparation she puts into samples and instructions makes the projects achievable for all. The sessions are friendly and sociable and the students support and encourage each other. The studio is a joy to be in and the skills and confidence gained is worth every penny. And I must give a nod to the chocolate brownies!

Print, Free Stitch & Feltmaking Classes

Classes and workshops are run by Maria Livesey in a bright airy studio within The Old School.

At different points in the year you will find, wet felting & needle felting; screen, gelli, or Lino printing; image transfer; free machine stitch; devoré, dyes and stitch manipulation. Which go hand in hand with a number of making projects, including bag and lampshade making.

Most of the sessions are geared to adults, with some half term sessions for parents & children. Courses generally run on a Tuesday morning for a termly block.

Day 'one off' workshops: These tend to cover lino printing (Christmas cards is very popular) and felt-making and generally run on a Friday.

WI's and guilds: I take requests for larger workshops these can be live or zoom.

Requests private individuals: These are also welcome for 1:1 skills development eg teaching free machine stitch or family groups who would like to engage in a bit of creativity together.

02/07 Pandemic update - In trying to adapt to the pandemic I'm running short courses, Zoom sessions and looking at pre recorded sessions with kits.
